EXTENDED DEADLINE (25/8/2024) - Summer School «The limbic structures of the brain, from bench to bedside»

At the University of Ioannina, from September 26 to 28, 2024, a Summer School is being held on the Structure and function of the limbic system of the brain. The anatomy and physiology of the brain regions included in the limbic system. The neurological and psychiatric diseases resulting from the disturbance of the functioning of these areas, with the scientific manager Professor Konstantinos Tsamis and the guest lecturer the famous Neuroscientist Professor Menno Witter.
The summer school consists of two main parts, one theoretical and one practical. The theoretical part of the program includes lectures by distinguished Neuroscientists on the anatomy of the limbic structures of the brain and the pathophysiology of important disorders of the limbic system. In the practical part, participants will observe and practice basic research methods such as cell cultures and behavioral experiments. There will also be a presentation and discussion of cases with Alzheimer's disease and other neurological disorders as well as with anxiety disorders and addictions.
The school's program is ideal for advanced medical students who have completed their 3rd year of study, psychologists, nurses, biologists, speech therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, undergraduates and graduates
For the theoretical part there is no numerical limitation.
For the practical part of the school, a maximum number of participants is 40 people.
Participation fee:
- €75 for attending lectures
- €250 for participation in all school activities (Lectures and Workshops)
